Mediterranean Avocado Feta Dip
Smooth and creamy, this Mediterranean Avocado Feta Dip is filled with wonderful earthy basil and salty feta cheese. This dip will be welcome at your next party!
I’m pretty sure that dip is one of my favorite foods. Pretty much anything can be turned into a dip. Leftover veggies like sweet potatoes, butternut squash, potatoes – all good. Stir some leftover stuff into sour cream and toss in some ranch spices – yum! If you ask my husband if I can turn anything into a dip, her would answer with a resounding “yes!”. Then he’d say that, “anything that doesn’t get eaten gets turned into a dip.”
It sort of reminded me of pesto with avocado. Maybe I’ll try serving it on pasta and see how it goes. I think it’ll be delicious!
I mentioned the other day that I’d have two versions of this avocado dip for you. The first was the Mexican Avocado Cotija Dip (recipe here). And, this more Mediterranean version with feta cheese and basil.
Serve this Mediterranean Avocado Feta Dip with tortilla chips, pita, veggies, or crackers. I think it’ll be great as a sandwich spread as well.

- 6 ounces Feta cheese crumbled
- 1/3 cup basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- pinch salt
- pinch freshly ground black pepper
- 1 large avocado pits and peels removed
- ¼ cup chopped red onion
- 1 Roma tomato chopped
- Place the Feta, basil, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the bowl of a food processor or in a blender. Blend until well combined and all chunks are small. Add the avocado, and pulse until smooth (some small chunks of avocado are fine). Place avocado mixture in a bowl, and gently stir in chopped red onion and half of the chopped tomato (reserving the remainder for garnishing).
Place dip in a bowl, garnishing with remaining chopped tomato, additional feta, and basil leaves if desired. Serve with tortilla chips, pita, veggies, or crackers.
