Have you heard of Dorot yet? It’s really cool. I found it in the freezer section of my local Trader Joe’s market. You can also find these products at your local Whole Foods. It’s how I’m elevating my plate!
“What is Dorot?” you ask. Well, it’s Fresh Frozen Portion Controlled Garlic & Herbs. It’s really cool, already chopped and measured out herbs, that you can simply toss into stews, soups, pastas, dressings, dips, sauces, just about any place you’d use herbs! It’s available year-round, so you can always have fresh herbs at your fingertips.
One thing I really like is that we don’t use much garlic around my house; when I buy a whole head of garlic, it tends to go bad. So, with these frozen cubes of garlic, I can keep fresh garlic around for a while and not have to worry about it going bad. And, I don’t have to do all the chopping myself! Talk about a time saver! No chopping, no clean-up, no measuring. Voila, all done for you!
My store had the Crushed Garlic and the Chopped Basil. But I’ll be keeping an eye out to try all the other products that they make.

- Chopped Parsley
- Glazed Onions
- Chopped Dill

I wanted to share a super quick and super easy Fresh Herb & Garlic Vinaigrette using Dorot so that you can see how easy Dorot is to use. You don’t even have to defrost the frozen cubes. Super easy! And no mess!

- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup white wine vinegar
- 2 cubes Dorot frozen chopped basil
- 1 cube Dorot frozen chopped garlic
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Mix all ingredients together and drizzle on your favorite salad
